Dying souls- by Oseni Yusuf

Mothers of my land they dream of becoming
But in dilemma they are, groaning
In the agony of horror.

Oppressing dreams of yester years
Through the sour-sounds of gun
That has become a thorn of
Untold hardship in the lives of many.

Tears roll on their cheek
Like dew on morning flowers.

Authorities of the land bow for the
Avoidable shame of the rebelling souls,
With demands that rule thoughts of insanity
From the rebel-lords.

Dancing in the show of shame
In my dear land, with the loudable melody
Of bomb that beclouds a peaceful land.

Tongue wagging for the number one man
Of the land for succour but little or
Know act from his part.

What a land! Cage by the powerful
Hands of few “boko-slams”.

Smiles to the world we honor to strangers,
But mockery entity we are
In the comity of Nations.

Oh! Our dying souls whose breakthrough
Know no clue at present, but hoping on
The invisible means of God.

HOPE, YOU’RE INSPIRED…TODAY! by Abdulhafeez Oyewole

I was hoping I could crack some “expensive jokes” (this week with my pen),
But Selah said to me “You aren’t off beam… and can illumine even better than what you up for”
So I paused and thought, “Could Selah be right by her thrust?”
She was as always a good source of my inspiration after all.
And may be today again, she will but brain my hand.

Everyone has a source of inspiration, which may be “he”, “she” or “it”. Just as everyone has a God.
Every soul has a body with which without, it cannot live successfully and steadily in this ephemeral host.
Thus, the earlier the unearthing of one’s source or sources of inspiration as the case may be, the better the chance of one’s sojourn would be better for it.
Be ye not a dreamer, building castles in the air,
Be ye the dream builder, with all sense of seriousness
Like a spider on its task to web.

Be ye not a pessimist, tired of trying.
Be ye an ant: neither retreating nor surrender,
To the squash and scorch from man and sky.

Be ye the proof of your Maker,
By your deeming self.
Be ye not a dream marauder!

And there is another one Selah failed not to leave me with:
“When everyone continues staring at you,
And the sky was not by your side,
Pause and think.”

Like Selah, I am leaving you with inspiring pieces from intellectual minds. So ponder over every drop of ink (like this write) in them and don’t hesitate to drop yours today for everyone’s reading delight!                       PEN CLUB; Practice to Perfection.
